Wichita Christian School offers Junior High and Varsity football. Football, like any other sport, provides many health benefits. It is a physically demanding game that provides an opportunity for players to improve their speed, agility, strength, hand-eye coordination and overall cardiovascular performance. Wichita Christian School participates in 6-man football which moves at a much faster pace than traditional 11-man. Wichita Christian School's coaching staff strives to teach athletes the connection between athletic principles and spirituality in which one must always be prepared to take on the challenges life presents and endure through the trials of life.
The WCS varsity football team made a comeback during the 2020 football season advancing to the state quarterfinals before ending their season.
"I am very proud of this team," said Seth Nolan, Athletic Director and Head Coach for the WCS football team. "It began during the offseason last year with how dedicated they were in the weight room. They were determined to get stronger and faster and it showed this season. Our selfless identity was also developed then. When you have a bunch of guys brought into their role on the team and do their job to the best of their abilities, that’s all you can ask for from a coaching standpoint."
